Abstract

Quoted in MS. Rawl letters c.22 f.10 by Baker (Thos.) in letter to Hearne (T). Growing friendship and common outlook with His Majesty. She calls to note the hostile stratagems of the R. Catholics under French direction and the necessity of taking counsel for the welfare of the church for which cause she wishes to enlist the King's help and is sending Thomas Bodley her trusty envoy with mandates to confer freely and in detail in confidence which she is sure the King will reciprocate.
