Abstract

He is delighted to hear that P. is thinking of writing a history of Derbyshire and that he had a copy od Domesday to be collated with the original. He mentions a number of sources as materials e.g.a parochial account that he possesses of the antiquities from PEPER's collection, and the Tutbury Priory book; and archives of the Duke of Rutland at Belvoir Castle. He is in hopes of securing a survey of the Derbyshire abbey lands. He refers too to useful extracts from Thurgarton abbey book. He thinks his letter will assure P. that he means to help this project in every way.
