Abstract
Hartlib responds to Permeier's encouragements to translate works of Arndt into English by informing him that he is already attempting to organize a version of Arndt's "Vom wahren Christenthumb" for English readers. Heremarks that English readers draw no distinction between Lutherans and Calvinists, and are universally receptive to edifying literature, a fact demonstrated by the popularity of Johann Gerhard's works in the country.
Hartlib further encloses several books by JohN Dury and others for Permeier's delectation. He requests two or three copies of Permeier's edition of Arndt's Postilla (Frankfurt/M., 1643) when the volume is completed. He reports on the status of Mede's further printed and manuscript works, and offers to send some of them to Permeier.
