Beautiful balanced sentences imbued with friendliness, mainly on the theme that he had not been writing during Z's. absence of a year on state service because he had been awaiting his return; but now that this hope has failed him he is writing in the hopes of a letter in reply, though far preferably of Z's. return in the flesh.
