Abstract

He will require another £5,000 to complete the work of freeing the English slaves found at Algiers, and urges on the bp. that collections be carried on more vigorously than hitherto. He contrasts the promptitude of the French and Dutch in effecting the redemption of their more numerous captives, "to the exceeding lessening of credit of our nation in the sense of these people".
